The year 2014 will go down in history as one of the most memorable ones when the finals of Crowning Miss Mpumalanga 2014 is finally staged on April 12, thanks to sponsorship from the Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB).

This year’s event, proudly produced and managed by Mzimari Productions, boasts of a star-studded line-up from Emcee, which is none other than the first lady of elegance, Bonang Mathebe, an internationally-renowned TV personality, popularly referred to as “Queen B.”

“Queen B” is likely to be enjoyed by local crowds for her diligent antics she’s renowned for and having her as co-emcee, sets the

standards high as this occasion can rightly be classified as an A-List event in the Lowveld – it has also proven to attract patrons from people from outside the province which is a contributory factor to tourism growth in the province.

Bonang will be co-hosting the event with renowned radio personality for the now revived Rise FM’s Celani Dube who has graced many an event in the Lowveld and surrounding areas, including being the Head Judge in the very Crowning Miss Mpumalanga from 2011 until 2013.

As if that was not enough, the organisers, Mzimari Productions’ CEO, Ms Gugu Nyarenda has finally revealed what she had in store for local revellers. She’s put together one of the most sought after duo, the ones and only Mpumalanga born and bred SA Idols winner and runner-up, Musa Sekwena and Brendon Ledwaba, who will be sharing the stage during this prestigious crowning ceremony that is sure to leave you gaping for more from where it came from, Mzimari.

Not only will the crowning ceremony be hosted and entertained by our world-class foursome, but it will be choreographed by nationally-renowned choreographer, the inimitable Tebogo and his crew, who have contributed immensely to the growth of the beauty pageant as he has been choreographing it from 2011 and has enhanced his performance each year – this year promises to be even better than the previous years.

“It has become a norm at Mzimari Productions to be associated with classy events, as we’ve ably hosted all of the best. This year,

together with my sponsors, MGB and others, we shall go a step higher than the previous years and showcase what Mpumalanga is made of in terms of classy and dignified events.

“If you’ve seen the previous, you haven’t seen the rest, as each pageant has its own theme and climax. It is for that very reason that I urge people to go as early as possible to buy their tickets before I pull up the house full sign very early.

“I’d like to thank my sponsors, MGB, the provincial government led by the premier, the private sector and the media in general, for the tremendous support since 2011 and we keep on growing each time.

“It’s about time that you reserved the day with your loved ones and make a date with us at the Emnotweni Arena and be a part of this history-making event as we showcase the 12 best girls this province has produced,” said Nyarenda.

The judging panel consists of Molatelo Mashabane (legal), Bongani Hlatshwayo (media), Martin Nkosi (government), Judith Khoza (sponsor) and Lungile Mango (radio).

Tickets are available from Sneakers Edition Stores at the Riverside and Ilanga Malls, including The Promenade at R150 and VIP is R350.
