Stars prepared to soldier on

Stars need to win their remaining fixture and pray that the other teams on top drop points.

Sivutsa Stars, who could soon sever their ties with sugar giants TSB, will host the top of the NFD table, Chippa United at the KaBokweni Stadium on Saturday.

This meeting comes a week after both teams suffered defeat and will surely come into this fixture with everything to play.

The Capetonians, Chippa United who are currently dominating the sport sections for all the wrong reasons, desperately need the three points to cement their place on top of the log, a position which will automatically gain them promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The home team, Sivutsa Stars also need three points to push for a decent finish that might book them a spot in the national play-offs.

Stars need to win their remaining fixture and pray that the other teams on top drop points. “We know what’s at stake and the boys are prepared to fight until the last game. We haven’t given up hope.

“We know we are playing against a formidable side and we have thoroughly prepared for this fixture. We are ready for the showdown,” said Stars’ player, Charles Nkosi.

Chippa is on top 39 points after 20 games, while Stars are in position 11 on 25 points after 20 games and need to win all their matches to improve their chances.
