Together with twerking (the raunchy dance move performed by Miley Cyrus at the MTV VMAs) and omnishambles, “selfie” is one of the newest words to make its way into the Oxford Dictionary’s quarterly online update.
For those not familiar with the word, here’s the explanation: “Selfie”, also selfy, noun (plural selfies), informal, a photograph of oneself, typically one taken with a Smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.
