Bikers and great music

The climax of the weekend of Metro FM invasion of Nelspruit took place at the Lowveld Botanical Garden.

Metro FM invaded Nelspruit on

Friday and Saturday and left party people begging for more.

Big Five Harley-Davdison, in collaboration with Metro FM and Ziyaphenduka Promotions, hosted the First Annual Bikers Charity Ride. It was an amazing time of fun, good music and loud noise from the bikes on show – from Friday November 22 to Sunday 24.

The extravaganza had different entertainment every night, which catered for everybody who atteneded.

The pre-party to the show, hosted at the Harley Davidson shop situated in Riverside, had an impressive line-up of Metro FM’s best house and hip-hop DJs. The headliner of the evening was the station’s breakfast-show host,

DJ Glen Lewis of The Fist Avenue – alongside him on the deep house music side was DJ Lulo Café, and on the hip-hop side the Naked DJ had the heads bombing from side to side with his mixing skills.

The show would not have been as great without our DJ from the province’s favourite station, Ligwalagwala FM’s Madumane, who made sure he matched the standard set, and a number of locally based DJs also took to the stage.

The pre-party set the mood for the rest of the weekend as it was the best night, but unfortunately the main event was not as successful, unlike the night before. Not many people attended.

However, that did not hinder the plans of the organisers to rock the town.

This they certainly did, despite the poor attendance.

Biker boys from all over the country came to enjoy the entire event and went on a ride to Graskop – to ride for a good cause – aimed at raising funds for charity.

The climax of the weekend of Metro FM invasion of Nelspruit took place at the Lowveld Botanical Garden.

With chilled vibes and soft music, the station’s soul music DJ’s Eddie Zondo and Paul Mtirara soothed their audience, and it was broadcast live.

The province’s “charmer boy”,

DJ Sweet Mike, took over from them and played his sweet sounds which made everybody get up and dance, warming them up for the main act of the night – everybody’s favourite group, The Soil.

The trio’s live performance was the cherry on the top to a weekend of first- class entertainment and they closed the show with a big bang- the only way to describe this epic weekend.
