Khuli Chana to rock Nelspruit

Twenty seven charity organisations will benefit from the proceeds.

The 2013 South African Music Award-winning hip hop sensation, Khuli Chana is set to rock Mpumalanga when he performs at Mbombela Stadium, for the first time after his shooting ordeal two weeks ago.

Billed to perform here this Saturday during the annual Metro FM Mpumalanga Charity Run, the No More Hunger fame will share the stage with other award-winning heavyweights such as the Durban boys from the Afrotainment stable, Big Nuzz, DJs Oskido, Kent, Sbu, Tbo Touch, Shabba and many more.

Since Robert Gumede’s big birthday bash in August, the province has been short of entertainment, which propelled Ziyaphenduka Promotions and the country’s biggest radio station, Metro FM to include some form of entertainment in their planned annual charity run. This was done to also accommodate those who don’t ride bikes but love good music and would love to lend a helping hand to those in need.

“At the beginning, when the idea was of a charity was born, we wanted to invite bikers only but then felt that there are many other people who are not riders but would love to play a role in this cause. And so we decided to include entertainment to accommodate everyone and give them a chance to be part of this charity event,” explained Bruce Kgapane, Ziyaphenduka Promotions’ CEO.

“I must warn those who want to be part of this to buy tickets now because they are selling fast,” said Kgapane, adding that the response has been enormous since the news of this charity event broke out.

He confirmed that Khuli Chana is recovering well and is ready to wow the province.

To properly put what is going to be a good weekend, the Lowveld Botanical Garden will play host to the planned Sunday soul session, dubbed Sunday Love Movement, which will feature the darlings in the music scene, The Soil, Eddie Zondi, Wilson B Nkosi, Sweet Mike and local acts.

Twenty seven charity organisations will benefit from the proceeds.

Tickets for the pre-party scheduled for Friday at the Big Five Harley-Davidson, which will feature Metro FM and Ligwalagwala FM DJs, start at R100 and R500 for VIPs and R150 to R600 for VIP for the Saturday gig. Then on Sunday all tickets are sold at R150.
