Radio programme nominated for Crown awards

Ligwalagwala FM's gospel programme has been nominated for awards.

The SABC owned radio station, Ligwalagwala FM is in line for yet another

accolade.

This SiSwati broadcasting radio station’s programme, the Gospel Top

Ten, which airs every Sundays, presented by Past Portia Luthuli, has just been

nominated for this year’s episode of the annual SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, under the Best Radio Show category.

The genre of music that is mostly played on the show is Zion, Afro-Gospel, Accapella, Kwaai gospel, traditional gospel, Charismatic gospel, Rock and roll gospel music. When asked how she feels about being nominated, Luthuli replied with a smile and said, “I feel very honoured, it’s very exciting when the work we do as a radio station is being recognised nationally. It shows the impact that we have in the lives of God’s people, the praises belong to God.”

When asked what she would do when she wins the

award, she had this to say, “Firstly I would give all the praise to God and also

thank the management and colleagues through their effort and support they always

offer, and not forgetting our listeners who always show love and support for the

station. I will continue to work very hard to lift up the spirit of our

listeners, give them hope and joy through music.”

Since this category is

voted for by the public, the station has once again appealed to their listeners

to show patriotism and support by voting for this show. To vote simply SMS

One of this

station’s shows, which is presented by the legendary Stan ‘Magidza edzakeni’

Mhlanga was recently nominated during the South African Traditional Music

Awards, thus placing this province on the right map.

“We try our level best

to give our listeners programming of the highest quality and with their

continual support and advices we will take this station to even much greater

heights.

It’s always an honour when one of our shows are nominated because

it shows that we are also rated amongst the best,” said the station manager, Mr

Rio Mabunda.
