Mpumalanga will come alive on Friday

The province will come alive on Friday .

Mpumalanga will come alive this Friday when the Provincial arm of the SA Schools

Football Association gathers at the opulent Mbombela Stadium not to play

football but to reward performance and excellence in development football at

10h00.

“These are the inaugural excellence award ever to be hosted by

organised Schools Football and we believe the awards will go a long way to

motivate the learners to focus on education through sport,“ said Mandla ‘Shoes

Mazibuko’ the National President of SASFA.

The Mpumalanga SASFA Excellence

Awards are part of a series of provincial initiatives that will culminate into

the national awards.

The candidates and nominees have performed at their best

during the various games in 2012/13 season and it was pretty tough to sift

through due to intense contest displayed by the candidates in the field of play,

officiating and administration.

“Mpumalanga Province prides itself on the

fact that some of their own stand tall as they are counted amongst the best

ambassadors, players such as Happy Jele that played in the Copa Coca – Cola

Football Stars whilst he was a learner at Sofunda High School same as Ndumiso

Mabhena who studied at Khothala Secondary in Dennilton and now he is with

Orlando Pirates FC candidates for CAF Championships. We trust that we shall

continue with the trend to afford opportunities whilst keeping a detailed eye

for talent with a view of nurturing it then sour to greater heights” added the

hosting President Sipho ‘Chocolate Ice Cream’ Mabuza.
