Black Aces on a warpath

Mpumalanga Black Aces ready to declare war against Durban based side Golden Arrows.

After a fierce battle against Platinum Stars on Tuesday, Mpumalanga Black Aces

are ready to declare war against Durban-based side Golden Arrows.

This battle

for three points, which, the hosts, Aces wanted to take to the KaNyamazane

Stadium, but was ruled against by the PSL, will now be hosted at the trusted

2010 Soccer World Cup stadium, Mbombela, this Saturday. Kick-off is at

15:30.

The two giants in their own right are coming to this battle looking to

renew their rivalry, having last met during the 2010/11 season with the home

team, Aces having the last laugh after trouncing Arrows 2-1, avenging their 3-1

first-round defeat.

Both teams have so far been dishing out good and

entertaining football and scoring goals, and, based on their recent

performances, fans are in for a great treat of good football.

“We are

declaring war against all the teams that are going to be coming here and we are

going to start with Arrows on Saturday.

“We are up in arms because we know we

must start collecting points. We have managed to ease the pressure and fix our

mistakes and I can assure our supporters that they will see a different team

altogether. We are not going to show mercy or give away points, because we are

not a charity,” said Aces’ spokesman, Gordon Masondo.

Masondo then appealed

to the team’s supporters and the people of the province in general to show

patriotism by filling stadiums whenever they are playing.

Masondo’s

counterpart, the Golden Arrows’ spokesman, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, told Mpumalanga

News they were expecting a tough battle but were determined to come out

victorious.

“Aces are currently playing good football, but we are coming

there to fight for the three points at stake.

“The arrival of the new coach

(Mark Harrison) has brought back that hunger from our players who now want to

taste success,” he said. The Mbombela Stadium manager, Roelf Kotze said they

were ready to host this showdown and that the pitch would be in perfect playable

condition.

He said tickets were already selling at all Computicket outlets.
