The top nine performed hits from well known musical icons from local and international stars.

Sunday night’s idols top nine performances went abuzz when the contestants performed from their song choice themed my “Idol” under the mentorship of musical idol, Zyion of Liquid Deep.

The top nine performed hits from well known musical icons from local and international stars. First performance of the night was opened by our very own Musa who sang Ringo’s “Ndiyagodola.” Musa left the crowd standing on their feet still wanting more from his wonderful performance and he went to the second verse of the song with a bang and left the crowd chanting to his name.

He was followed by 24-year-old Durban science teacher who performed Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger.” Gareth was happy with Musa’s performance and said he chose a song that was right for him. Unathi had to say he gave the song energy that has never been given even by the owner himself.

Meanwhile, Brenden’s performance was not up to his usual level. He performed Anthony Hamilton’s song “Her Heart” the 19-year-old did not impress Randall.

Gareth said he was impressed, but that this was not his strongest performance. Unathi commended him saying it was a perfect performance. Randall warned him that he has to be very careful with his song choices going forward because not all songs will suit the fans.

Bunny closed the performance with Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” leaving her fans satisfied. Our votes will determine if the two Mpumalanga lads stay longer in the competition, to vote for Musa SMS 09 to 37400 and to vote for Brenden SMS 01 to 37400.
