‘Mr Fix It’ builds self-belief in Tingwenyama

Real test will start this coming Saturday and end next week Saturday when they will have to play three games in a space of seven days

Newly appointed Mbombela United coach, Milton “Mr Fix It” Dlamini, has promised to get Tingwenyama playing free-flowing football again. The Swaziland-born mentor has also vowed to turn the National First Division side’s fortunes without overhauling Vusi Mkhatshwa’s work at the club.

Mkhatshwa mysteriously disappeared following their 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos, prompting United management to send an SOS to Dlamini to take over on a caretaker basis.

Dlamini has not disappointed. United drew 2-all draw against Black Leopards away from home in his first game in charge and recorded a 1-0 win over Cape Town All Stars at home over the weekend.Bongani Ndlovu scored the all-important goal just three minutes into the second half to earn Tingwenyama maximum points.

“These are the same players who have been there since the beginning of the season. The only change that I made, is that I told the boys to have a decent approach to the game and I gave them a lot of motivation. The mood in the dressing room was not on the same level,” said the former Thanda Royal Zulu assistant coach to Neil Tovey.

Dlamini and his troops’ real test will start this coming Saturday and end next week Saturday when they will have to play three games in a space of seven days.

On Saturday, Tingwenya will be in Cape Town facing second-placed Stellenbosch FC in an NFD league encounter.

Four days later (next week Wednesday, December 7) they will be looking to avenge their 2-1 defeat to Real Kings when they host them at KaNyamazane Stadium in the NFD Nedbank Cup qualification.

Then on Saturday (December 10), they will host Themba Mafu’s Witbank Spurs in an Mpumalanga derby.

“We are taking one game at a time. But my boys are ready for anything. The confidence and self-belief is back in the boys. We are going to Cape Town not just looking for a draw, we are going there for a win,” said Dlamini.
