Tingwenyama are still hopeful to regain their winning ways

we will regain our winning ways soon

Mbombela United’s struggle in the National First Division continued when they were held to a one-all draw against Royal Eagles at KaNyamazane Stadium on Saturday.

Siyambonga Madikane netted his fourth goal for Tingwenyama to level the scoreline to one all, sparing the team the grief of losing at home.

Eagles had taken a lead through Raymond Monama. Just after six games, Tingwenyama found themselves rooted in position 13 with six points. This is a far cry from their fairy tale in the NFD last season.

The local side will travel to Mthatha Stadium in the Eastern Cape to face Mthatha Bucks this Saturday.

Bucks, which are perched in position eight with eight points after six games, will approach Saturday’s game looking to redeem themselves after having gone down 1-0 to Cape Town All Stars over the weekend.

Tingwenyama’s away- record this season has been dismal compared to the last one. In the three games they have played away from home to date, they have managed to accumulate one point out of nine. This comes after they drew 0-all against rookies Magesi FC.

They lost their other two games to Santos and Real Kings 2-1.
Sostern Gutsa, United spokesperson, said they had not been at their best since the beginning of the season.

“Our points tally is way too low compared to what we would have wanted as a team. We owe ourselves a turnaround and hopefully, we will regain our winning ways soon.”
He said there were still 24 matches until the end of the season, thus 73 points were still up for grabs.

“Going to Mthatha, we will do our best and fight for a maximum number of points. We will be back home again on Wednesday October 26 for another crucial encounter against AmaTuks,” added Gutsa.
