The second on the ABC Motsepe League table, Apollo XI, come to this clash with confidence and motivation following their 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Mapulaneng United this past Saturday at KaBokweni Stadium.
In an interview with Mpumalanga News, the general manger of the hosts, Lucky Zwane said they conducted a thorough training session on Sunday where they had the opportunity to talk about some of the mistakes in their previous games.
“We realised the boys have a tendency of undermining small teams. I hope that the loss has sent a clear message to them, to take every game very seriously. I believe they are going to pull up their socks and win the game,” he said regarding the previous match they had lost.
Zwane concluded by saying that playing against Phiva Young Stars was a motivation on it’s own, as they are one of the biggest teams in Ehlanzeni.
“We are going to win this game and we are going to break a record by becoming the champions of the league as we are in second position. We managed to be the champs of the ABC Motsepe league in 2013/2014, we can do it again this year,” he concluded.
