Basket ball tournament on track
The Shooters managed to walk away with the cup and medals after they showed dedication and focus.
The hip hop and basketball-tournament session held this past Saturday at Daantjie attracted young people in the area. This publication learnt that three teams were taking part, the Sibuyile Stormers, Daantjie Shooters and the 2013 champs of the mayoral cup, KaNyamazane Slam Lord.
The Shooters managed to walk away with the cup and medals after they showed dedication and focus. They defeated last year’s winners in their second game and also their home boys, Sibuyile Stormers by 83-27 in the finals.
Speaking to Mpumalanga News the coach of Daantjie Shooters, Swekie Mamba said, “I’m very impressed with my boys’ performance. They deserved to win because they were disciplined and dedicated. Thank you very much to the parents for their support. When children receive support from their parents, they excel.”
When this reporter asked what their plans are after this victory, Mamba indicated that they were going to focus on their league games. Some of the players of Daanjie Shooters who left spectators speechless with their performance included Santo’s Vilakazi, Mbali Mazibuko, Siyabonga Mlimi and Nkosinathi Mpila.
