SAPS hold tournament to combat crime

This was proved when the youth came to witness the soccer tournament to fight against crime which was organised by the Pienaar and Mataffin police stations.

Sport has been identified as one of the activities which plays a very significant role in keeping young people busy so they can remain focused and not be involved in criminal activities.

Teams of both areas and surroundings which included Top Star, Kasi FM, Nyokeni, SAPS and Mam’Rubs club participated. Speaking to Mpumalanga News the spokesperson for Pienaar Police Station Sgt Jabu Ndubane said, “By organising such tournaments we try to show the youth that there are activities in which they can engage themselves rather than to indulge in substance abuse and criminal activities.”
