United to entertain Stars in Mbolfa league clash

On Saturday Sylvester United and second-placed Kevin Stars, both of Mbolfa log stream B, will battle it out in a must-win encounter for both teams.

With the NFD and Vodacom League games put on hold following the start of the Nedbank Cup games on Saturday, it will be business as usual for local teams campaigning in the promotional league.

On Saturday Sylvester United and second-placed Kevin Stars, both of Mbolfa log stream B, will battle it out in a must-win encounter for both teams.

Top of the log Sylvester United lead with 36 points after 13 games and Kevin Stars trail behind with 34 with a game in hand. If they win on Saturday, they will climb to the top of the ladder with 37.

Determined for a victory, United owner/coach, Sylvester Mhlanga said they desperately needed the win to widen the gap by at least five points from Stars who were hot on their heels.

“We have to win this game and I am certain that my players are going to do well because they know that they can’t afford to slip up.

“I don’t foresee a situation where we fail because we have all the resources in place to register a win,” he commented.

Mhlanga said there were no injuries in his camp, which would help him plot a perfect kill on Saturday

He will certainly look at star players such as Dumisani Sengwayo, Thapelo Mathebula and Mduduzi Mnisi to bag the three points.

The game takes place at the Chicken Farm open ground at Msogwaba.

Kick-off is 15:00.
