Local football analyst, David Samkethe, is popular on social media for his accurate match analysis and exclusive content about the local soccer scene.
With the new year comes new plans for Samkethe, who revealed in an interview with Mpumalanga News that he plans to branch out as a football agent after realising his scouting skills, recruiting players and placing them in various teams.
“This is something that has been on my mind for a while. I’ve been recruiting players time and again, placing them into
various clubs.
“I’ve also befriended club chairpersons and players, so it became simple to get exclusive information about the team and players. Other players would even inbox me to help them find a team. More players approached me, and I realised that I had the potential to do this,” he said.
Samkethe also pointed out that he intends to be in the football fraternity full-time.
“Players outside the province come forward to be assisted in finding a team. There was one that I moved from the Eastern Cape to a team on this side. Others go for trials in various places. So, I think I have come full circle when it comes to other things concerning football. “This route will come with new opportunities to which I’m looking forward. I’m quite thrilled about the year ahead and hopefully, something will come up.”
