Matsulu set to host Sukumani Sidlale Soccer Tournament
Finals for the Sukumani Sidlale Soccer Tournament will be played this weekend at Moyeni Playground in Matsulu B.
Matsulu Chelsea Legends will be pitted against Mbombela Real Stars from 11:45 while Mega Force FC will face Matsulu Chelsea from 14:00.
The tournament is aimed at unearthing local talent and keeping the youth off the streets. It is sponsored by TRAC N4, RCL Foods, Bongani Lodge, the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation and the City of Mbombela.
Last week’s games saw Matsulu Chelsea legends winning 4-2 against Mbombela Real Stars. Mega Force and Matsulu Chelsea ending with 0-0 in 90 minutes. Mega Force emerged victorious in a penalty shoot-out winning the game with 4-3.
Leading goalscorers of the tournament so far are Nqobani Makhubu of Mbombela Real Stars five goals and Ngwako Malatjie of Matsulu Chelsea Legends four goals. Amos Sambo of Mega Force and Bonginkosi Sibiya of Matsulu
Chelsea both scored three goals in the 161 scored in 30 matches of the tourney.
Finals will be played on August 11.
