South African Football Association coach instructor Steve Coatzee mentioned that SAFA has identified that a lot of coaches do not have a coaching qualification. The camp was meant to guide the coaches through attaining the qualification.

The South African Brewers League held a week-long Coaching Skills Camp at the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria which started on February 10.

The purpose of the camp is to improve the quality of football in the country by increasing the number of qualified coaches as there is a shortage in the country. 49 coaches will receive their D-License certificates after the camp.
