Chiefs’ foreign duo set to pip SuperSport at Mbombela

Amakhosi won't have it easy as they will be facing some of their former teammates in Reneilwe Letsholonyane in midfield and central defender Morgan Gould and striker, Kingston Nkatha.

Kaizer Chiefs’ move to bolster their striking force with two foreigners is set to increase their chances of claiming honours of the premier soccer league at the end of the season.

Amakhosi, as they are affectionately known, recently signed Mamelodi Sundowns’ Colombian striker, Leonardo Castro who will be featured in their Saturday league game at Mbombela Stadium when they face SuperSport United at 18.00.

Castro will be paired with deadly Venezuelan striker, Gustavo Paez.

The duo will be further strengthened by the undying effort of former international, Bernard Parker and Emmanuel Letlotlo all of which have a task of increasing their goals tally as only midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has recorded three goals to his name thus far with the league midway

Castro, on the other hand, is the biggest Chiefs’ buy as the club has been reported to have spent to the tune of R2 million for his signature, reckoned to be the club’s biggest spend in the last few years.

Fireworks are expected to be seen between Castro,, Paez, Parker and Letlotlo that will be fed by Tshabalala from the midfield.

Tickets are expected to sell like hot cakes as Kaizer Chiefs are the only PAL club that fills the 43 500 Mbombela Stadium to capacity at all its previous games against Mpumalanga Black Aces, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket at R50.

They are also available at the stadium kiosk. There will also be a park-n-ride for the hordes of soccer supporters expected at the stadium.
