A soccer spectacular not to miss at Mbombela Stadium

Tickets for the Orange CAF Confederation Cup group B thriller between Orlando Pirates and Egyptian giants, FC Zamalek are already on sale.

Scheduled for Saturday July 11 at Mbombela Stadium, at 15:00, this fixture was moved here because the Orlando Stadium is getting a facelift.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity which the stadium’s spokesperson, Mthuthuzelli Qamba said must be used to the fullest to prove critics wrong.

“We don’t get to host such a competition in our own backyard and now that we have been given the opportunity to do so, we need to take full advantage and fill the stadium to capacity to show the entire African continent that Mpumalanga rocks.

“Tickets are already selling, I would therefore like to plead with all soccer fanatics in the province to come and support our own South African team,” pleaded Qamba. “Everyone everywhere is talking about Mpumalanga and the Kruger National Park because of this fixture.

It has placed us up there with the rest of the soccer-mad nations and it is up to us to make this particular clash memorable for
Pirates to want to bring more such games here.

“I am sure that if we support Pirates and make them feel at home, they will definitely bring more games here,” he said. Pirates’ administrator, Floyd Mbele confirmed that this game had been moved to
Mbombela because their home venue was being renovated. Both Pirates and Zamalek registered wins in their opening games played this past weekend.
