The game between Algeria and Nigeria on July 7 was a thrilling one. The Algerians did not hold back and went for an attack in the early stages of the match right through to half-time. They were stronger, as much as the Nigerians tried to stabilise their team, but did not pose as much of a threat to their opponents. However, they managed to put one ball behind the net, but Algeria scored their second goal in extra time and that was the end of Nigeria.
I am glad they made it to the semi-finals and proved that they are a solid team. By the way, what happened to the Zimbabwean team? It is as if they never existed. They just faded during the tourney and finished at the bottom of group A with only one point. Their performance was not convincing, because if they wanted to compete, they would have. Maybe it was a coaching or technical problem when they found themselves right at the bottom. Some of their experienced players also play in the Premier Soccer League, but they also did not assist the team. Anyway, tomorrow, may the best team in Africa win!
