Business partners join hands to assist schools in need

Lowveld Media has initiated a school pages project within the MP News newspaper.

Currently the schools involved are all part of the local Nelspruit circle of the Partners for Possibility initiative. You can read more about the latter on www.pfp4SA.org.

The short version of this initiative is that it partners business leaders with school principals. The intention being is to among other things, help principals find and/or structure solutions for the many challenges which they face on a day-to-day basis.

Matthys Ferreira, editor of the Autodealer Lowveld and supported by Lowveld Media, is one of the business leaders involved locally. He has initiated the school pages project. What makes it unique is that the learners themselves decide and prepare the news for their page and is also involved with the layout of the page.

To illustrate the value of this initiative we would like to share this with you.

“I had a lot of fun with the kids and when we were done with Vulemehlo’s page and wrapping up, I spontaneously and on the spur of the moment opened my arms and invited the kids for a hug – their response was immediate and complete. In that moment, I acknowledged and expressed gratitude because it is in these moments where miracles are born. The value of this project goes beyond just the intellectual – it touches the soul of all involved.”
