Tackling all your sporting issues

There are many sporting activities scheduled to be hosted at various areas and I am sure that we will be patriotic enough to show our support.

There is no better way to begin the brand-new year than to start it with your favourite sport column, which tackles all your sporting issues.

I must apologise for the long absence but, no worries, all is well now. I am glad that we meet at the beginning of a new year and after we have now digested all the rich foods we had consumed over Christmas.

They say this is the year of blessings and deliverance. They call it “20-4-me”. I just hope and pray that this year of deliverance delivers the thousands of soccer and rugby supporters, to the Mbombela Stadium when our home teams, Mpumalanga Black Aces and the Steval Pumas Rugby Club play there.

I also hope that this year will deliver Sivutsa Stars to the Premier Soccer League and one team from the Vodacom to the National First Division, so that the province may have representation in all major soccer leagues in the country.

And finally, I hope that this new year of blessings blesses me with a pair of Nike soccer boots so that I can dribble past traffic officials who are always on my case whenever I’m driving to the soccer, cricket and rugby games around the region.

I hope that you will have a blessed year. See you in the stands as we shout at the top of our voices for our home teams.
