2014- let’s go for it!

Enough of pointing fingers. It is time for change and change must come now, not tomorrow as we've garnered enough ruling experience over a period of 20 years into this democracy.

It’s a brand-new year and our very first edition after a grueling festive season.

Firstly, we’d like to congratulate the class of 2013 for living up to expectations and making a positive impact by further improving the pass rate in this province, thus enhancing educational development for our youth.

We’re also entering a year in which the country will be voting for a new government during the general elections. We need to approach those elections with a sober mind and not through emotions and regret having placed your crosses on the wrong parties.

We’ve indicated even during last year, that under this democracy in South Africa, we need capable men and women to lead us. We need men and women who are faithful, truthful, hardworking and live up to their promises.

For us, it is useless replacing leaders with other incapable and inexperienced ones all just because there’s a lot of clamouring for positions, rather than fulfilling their political mandates which are to deliver basic services to the people and thus improving their lives.

All political parties should take a cue from the teachings and sacrifices of the late

Dr Nelson Mandela, who left us with a legacy that should be espoused by all and sundry in order for this country to reach certain standards.

It was good that all of them were united in grief during his death, mourning and funeral service.

That spirit of unity is commendable and it should really transcend in their intentions upon the people – make the late old man proud by uniting and fighting for real change and uphold all that he believed in and died for.

Enough of pointing fingers. It is time for change and change must come now, not tomorrow as we’ve garnered enough ruling experience over a period of 20 years into this democracy. Why should we fail as a nation to change for the better?

Let’s all go for it!
