DJ Makhekhe, real name Bongani Mashele (24), is forging a path in the broadcasting industry, showcasing his passion and dedication for connecting with listeners and encouraging people to dance.
Mashele said his career began in 2017 at an online radio platform, Pocket Stereo FM, where he spent two years honing his craft.
“I did not know anything about radio, so I gained experience at that station. This also opened a lot of opportunities to work at KaMhlushwa Online Radio for more than two years doing the weekend breakfast show,” Mashele said.

In 2021, he joined KRadio to refine his on-air presence and then moved on to Voice of Hope FM. With a wealth of experience under his belt, Mashele said he is looking forward to the next chapters in his career.
He is hoping to work in mainstream radio for Ligwalagwala FM, which would align with his professional growth aspirations, allowing him to further develop his skills and continue serving his loyal followers and listeners.

As a side hustle, Mashele is a DJ and he plays at clubs and events. He is also a versatile music connoisseur, playing a variety of music such as amapiano, old school house, Afropop, soul and R&B.
