The Church of Jesus Christ, Lowveld Circuit, hosted a couple’s workshop at at the Mbombela Civic Centre.
‘Making God the foundation of our marriages.’
This was the theme of a successful couple’s workshop that was hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ, Lowveld Circuit, at the Mbombela Civic Centre on Saturday, August 31.
These couples received some marital advice and learnt about authority and power dynamics in relationships, as well as the financial benefits of marriage.
One should not be greedy when it comes to money, because if you become greedy, you will not be able to use it wisely.
Sabelo Mkhwanazi, a business accountant of Quanis Accounting and Tax Solutions and a member of the church, gave a presentation to teach the couples how to handle their finances. According to him, it is important for everyone to have a clear understanding of what their attitude is towards money. “The money that you have in your possession is not yours; you have just been given the custodianship. It is a means for you to survive. One should not be greedy when it comes to money, because if you become greedy, you will not be able to use it wisely.”
Mkhwanazi said it is important for one to have a budget and added that one does not need to know accounting to be able to draft one. “Writing everything down makes it easy to know where to start as money can be very tricky.”
He said not talking about finances can cause issues in a marriage.
