UPDATE: CoM still within 8-hour schedule to restore power in Mbombela CBD

A replacement cable has been sourced and power will be restored section by section as soon as possible.

The City of Mbombela’s spokesperson, Joseph Ngala said the estimated time of power restoration in Mbombela CBD is still within the eight hours as he said earlier today, August 23.

He said the replacement cable is approximately double of the 30 metres that was stolen.

“A replacement cable has been sourced. The difficult part was to get it to the site as it is longer than anticipated, making it heavier to carry through the bushes. The cable is being placed into position and the termination work will then ensue. Thereafter, power will be restored section by section as we monitor the load,” Ngala said.
