MTPA expo to boost tourism students

In support of the Triland Agreement, buyers from Mozambique and eSwatini will interact with the exhibitors.

Tourism students of various education institutions in Mpumalanga are in for experiential yet educational empowerment at the fourth Mpumalanga Tourism Expo hosted by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Park Agency (MTPA), in partnership with Jakada Holdings.

The MTPA’s acting CEO, Justus Mohlala, said following up from the previous expo, tourism students will be given an opportunity to be part of it as a learning experience. He addressed attendees of the expo’s media launch held at the Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust’s hospitality and tourism hotel in KaNyamazane on August 15.

The expo also aims to promote the Triland Agreement entered into by the MTPA, the Mozambique National Institute of Tourism and the eSwatini Tourism Authority

“We have more students who will be part of this year’s expo. We are in need of young people who will contribute to the tourism sector, which contributes more to the economy of the province. For this year, we created the tourism student tours and collaborated with KMI Airport to host students with career aspirations in aviation. We also have more host buyers from the tourism authorities to interact with exhibitors. The expo also aims to promote the Triland Agreement entered into by the MTPA, the Mozambique National Institute of Tourism and the eSwatini Tourism Authority,” he said.
