Malalane kids treated to delicious dinner on Mandela Day

The Uthandiwe Children's Home enjoyed a dinner with drinks and dessert courtesy of Pestana Kruger Lodge in honour of Mandela Day.

Dinner is on us! Pestana Kruger Lodge spent its 67 minutes to commemorate Mandela with children from Uthandiwe Children’s Home in Malalane on Thursday evening, July 18.

The team brought delicious dinner with drinks and desserts for the children to enjoy.

“We have a very special dinner date with the kids tonight. We know most people do their activities during the day, but we wanted to switch it up a little bit and make it even more intimate for them. We have had a number of interactions with the centre and most times they visit us at the lodge, but today we have brought the delicacies to them. They will not be cooking tonight as we have brought them the ultimate dinner experience,” said the sales director and retail manager for Pestana, Vuyo Mbentse.

The Uthandiwe centre harbours 28 children and eight adults who take care of them. The manager, Vusi Sibiya, said the children were excited to enjoy the dinner.

“We are grateful to Pestana Kruger Lodge for such a heart-warming gesture. We did not even have to welcome them because they are home. Our relationship with them goes a long way and we value it so much. Our goal is to protect the children and make sure they get the care they need to grow up and be successful in society,” said Sibiya.
