Bushbuckridge’s Zoë Hlatshwayo crowned Miss Teen Grand South Africa

The new Miss Teen Grand South Africa wants to inspire young girls to be themselves and to encourage them to enter beauty pageants as this can improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Bushbuckridge-based model, Zoë Hlatshwayo (17), was crowned Miss Teen Grand South Africa at a prestigious event held at the @Sandton Hotel on June 16.

This talented young model hails from the small village of Majembeni.

After the crowning, Zoë said she was proud to have represented Mpumalanga, the place of the rising sun, and has committed to being a beacon of authenticity and inspiration.

“I hope to encourage other young girls like me to embrace their true selves, pursue their dreams and make meaningful contributions to the world around them. I am passionate about inspiring change and encouraging people to embrace their authenticity. I believe that everyone should have the confidence to live their lives without being confined by societal expectations. My goal is to encourage individuals to listen to their own voices rather than being influenced by what others want them to be,” she said.

Zoë also said during her reign, she will continue to inspire young girls to enter pageants as it helps boost confidence and also teaches them time management. She will also continue to support the Ebenezer Christian Centre for abandoned children in Shatale.

“People can expect to see me inspire others to be themselves and encourage them to enter beauty pageants as this can improve confidence and self-esteem, which will contribute to individuals embracing who they truly are. I will also be helping out in the community as much as I can in order to uplift fellow residents and help young people realise that they are perfect the way they are,” she said.
