The Buccaneers enter unfriendly waters with TS Galaxy ahead of Nedbank Cup final

The Nedbank Cup finalists, Orlando Pirates, will feel the wrath of TS Galaxy when these two giants meet at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday May 18.

Currently playing their best football ever, Galaxy need only one point from their three remaining league fixtures to cement their place in the top eight bracket.
The Rockets have turned the Mbombela Stadium into their own slaughterhouse.

It has never been easy for any of the premiership teams to come to Mbombela and leave with all three points. Those who have managed to come and steal some points here have also left with some bruises.

Galaxy are currently sited on position five with 40 points after 27 games. They are followed by SuperSport United on position six, also with 40 points, but played who played one game more.

In position seven are the Citizens, Cape Town City, with 39 points, also after 28 games.

The Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, are in the eighth place on the table with 35 points after 28 games. If they win their two remaining games, they will finish the season with 41 points.

This makes Galaxy’s clash against Pirates a must-win or -draw so they can ease off the pressure on their last match.

Galaxy still need to play against the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, next Tuesday, May 21, also at the Mbombela Stadium. They will finish the season away to Polokwane City on May 25.

Meanwhile, the Cape Town Spurs have already been relegated from the elite league. They are currently sited on the bottom of the log with 19 points after 28 games.

Even if they win the remainder of their games, it will not help them in any way, because it would mean they get to finish the season with 25 points.
Richards Bay is currently sited on position 15 with 27 points.
