Business seminar uplifts entrepreneurs in Mpumalanga

The Charitable Business Seminar gathered some business-minded individuals for them to share ideas and knowledge as a way to uplift one another while giving back to the community.

The SEZ Foundation hosted its annual Charitable Business Seminar at the Ndalo Lodge in Mbombela on Saturday March 2 to create a networking platform for local business people to form collaborations and partnerships, and to share information.

The main aim of the annual seminar with its 18 speakers was to raise funds on behalf of the foundation to tackle its challenges with funds.

The SEZ Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 2015 to advocate against teenage pregnancy, to restore the dignity of children and to set a focus on youth and women empowerment.

The attendees were urged to bring along a sanitary towel pack and/or pair of school shoes to be donated to underprivileged children.

The foundation’s founding CEO, Sezanele Zondi, said the intention of having various speakers was to promote collaborations between public and private sectors, with the National Youth Development Fund Agency as a supporting institution.

The keynote speaker, Talifhani Banks, the CEO of Analytics Advertising and Spaza Eats, spoke about emotional intelligence in business, tax and accounting compliancy and essentially how to run a successful business. He encouraged entrepreneurs to start building solutions that serve beyond cultures and to think global.

“Our theme was ‘All Errors are Amendable’, which all our speakers shared, along with their mistakes and how they overcame them. Entrepreneurship is a lonely journey without such platforms as these, and one would easily have given up in that case,” Zondi said.
