MEC for health visits KaNyamazane and White River clinics

The visits by MEC Sasekani Manzini were to provide support to the local health facilities and to monitor service delivery.

The MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, conducted an oversight visit to the KaNyamazane Clinic on Wednesday February 7 to monitor the provision of healthcare services to improve the quality of it, and to provide support to the facility’s staff to mitigate challenges that are likely to hinder these services.

During her visit, Manzini pleaded with the staff to make use of the booking system for patients to curb issues of having long queues at the facility.

“I recommend that the provincial, official and district offices must give support to the facility and staff,” she said.
Manzini also conducted an oversight to the White River Clinic the day before, accompanied by the deputy director general of clinical services, Dudu Mdluli, to see how the facility is providing healthcare services to the people and give support to the staff.

Manzini said the department is mandated to provide adequate quality healthcare service to the people in a conducive environment, and emphasised the importance of having regular medical check-ups for early detection of ailments that require early treatment. These visits to the health facilities are part of Operation Check Impilo, which aims to encourage the public to check their health status.
