The outstanding examination results produced by the Mathews Phosa College’s Matric Class of 2023 is a testament to the quality education provided by this top-performing school.

With the outstanding achievements of the Matric Class of 2023, Mathews Phosa College is among the top performing schools in the province.
The Matric Class of 2023 obtained a pass rate of 97.5%, making it the most improved school in the Mbombela Circuit for 2023.

The majority of Grade 12s of the Mathews Phosa College qualify for a bachelor’s degree, which will allow them study at a university.
The school is also among the best achievers in physical sciences and mathematics in the region.

The top achievers at the college for the 2023 National Senior Certificate examinations were Dimpho Shongwe, who obtained five distinctions in mathematics, life orientation, physical sciences, accounting and life sciences, and Gosiame Kgamadi, who also achieved five distinctions in geography, mathematics, life sciences, physical sciences and life orientation.

Founded in January 1994, all the learners who attend Mathews Phosa College are boarders, and the college is rated as the second best private school in the Mbombela Circuit.

Mathews Phosa College’s principal, MJ Rammala, had the following to say to the school’s Matric Class of 2023: “I want to congratulate the Class of 2023 on their perseverance and the magnificent results obtained. The hard work really did pay off towards this achievement for many of our learners.

 

“We are proud to be one of the top schools that consistently rank as one of the best-performing schools in the country. I attribute this success to excellent control and discipline, dedicated and well-qualified staff and focused learners, which are key to excellent results, not only in Grade 12, but also in Grades 8 to 11.

“This is an incredible milestone, and our learners deserve the spotlight to celebrate the moment,” he said.
