Welcoming the students, the UMP’s vice chancellor, Prof Thoko Mayekiso, said university life heralds the beginning of an exciting new phase in their lives. “This is significant in the life of any new student the university is receiving. Such a time indicates growth and a new partnership, and the realisation that new bonds are formed and new members are welcomed into our fold.”

During this orientation week, the students will mostly learn about UMP’s teaching and learning, visit the library and see other facilities.

Some of the topics that will be covered this week will empower the new students with tools to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.
