City of Mbombela mayor visits primary school

This visit is part of the City of Mbombela’s (CoM) executive mayor, Cllr Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko, school outreach programme.

As a way to make a difference, the City of Mbombela’s (CoM) executive mayor, Cllr Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko, visited Masoyi Primary School on Monday January 22 to hand over school uniforms to some of the less fortunate and some scholar patrol equipment.

The donations were part of the mayor’s school outreach programme.

Makushe-Mazibuko encouraged the young learners to give their education their utmost attention as they are the future leaders and solution-bearers for all societal, economical and professional development needs. She told them she religiously holds a mantra: “Our family backgrounds must not be a limitation of how far we can go. We must always struggle to better ourselves through education to change our family backgrounds.”

According to the CoM, the community members appreciated the mayor’s efforts. They even committed to work hand in hand with the school to ensure a conducive learning environment for all the learners and teachers.
