Masoyi artist fuelled to release new music

The musician said he hopes to be successful in the music industry and inspire young and old to not give up on their dreams.

Sinky Nkosi (44), also known as Sinkyless, is aspiring to be a versatile musician. He has the talent to tackle various genres while also inspiring others to not give up on their passion for music.

In the past year, Nkosi has managed to release his first two amapiano songs titled “Mama ka bhuti” and “Amalobolo”.

“I am in the studio finalising some songs to drop my first album by the end of March. It will be a showcase of my singing talent and an introduction to the local music scene.

“The name of the album is Siyakokota which means ‘we are knocking’. I hope music fans will love this album and that it will be afforded opportunities for airplay on local radio stations and that I will be uplifted as a new artist,” he said.

Nkosi said the album will have eight songs comprising an African pop-style infused with hip hop and contemporary RnB, similar to music by renowned South African artists, Sjava and Big Zulu.

He said he hardly pens his music before he goes into the studio, as most the lyrics of his songs flow instantly when he listens to the beats.
While not in the studio making music, Nkosi works as an attendant at a filling station in Mahushu.

“I never want to give up on my dreams of being a successful musician. I have always loved music and grew up listening to the likes of Brenda Fassie, Zola 7 and Arthur Mafokate. I used to sing along on their songs and that’s how I fell in love with singing.”
