New year, new prospects for Masoyi artist Ronza Wakhona

Ronza says his wife inspired him to become a better man. He dedicated this new single to her.

The award-winning hip-hop artist Ronald Mbuyane, aka ‘Ronza Wakhona’, started the new year with a bang by releasing his first new single, produced by his own record company.

The new single, called “The lost Black Sheep”, is dedicated to his wife, Mabunhle Mashego , who he says changed him from a bad man to a better one.

The song was released after his contract with a previous recording studio had ended, presenting him with the ideal opportunity to set up his studio.

Ronza, from the dusty streets of rural Masoyi, said the single is currently doing well on digital platforms.

“The song was produced by McNeyesir, composed by me and released on December 1. It’s my first single under my own record label. I am now an independent artist who is looking forward to collaborating with other artists in this area and nationally. I have also done a song with Jon from Spain when I used to visit the Netherlands. That song will be released later this year,” he said.

Wakhona said he was inspired by Mashego, who changed him from being a wild boy to being the responsible man he is now. “I used to live my life carelessly and I was nothing when I met her, but afterwards, my life changed. I no longer do things the way I used to. I am now a responsible man, taking care of my family. This song will now inspire other young men like me to look after their families and become better men,” he said.

Currently promoting “The Black Sheep” locally and nationally, he says the going is tough, but that he is determined to push through until he makes it.

The talented Wakhona won the best hip-hop artist award at the Game Lifestyle Awards in 2022, and the best artist award at the ANC music competition in 2019, when he bagged R100 000.
