BREAKING NEWS: Two people killed in bus accident on the Long Tom Pass
More than 60 people are reported to be injured in the accident that involved a 55-seater bus.
Two people are reported to have died in an accident that involved a 55-seater bus on the Long Tom Pass. The exact number of injured has not yet been confirmed.
According to the spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, the accident occurred at about 16:45 on Friday, December 8.
Currently, the R37 is completely closed as the emergency services are on the scene to assist. The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage.

Emer-G-Med, which is on the scene, confirmed that as many as 60 commuters have been injured. Search-and-rescue services are in attendance, and the Netcare 911 aeromedical helicopter has been activated.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
