Klipspringer Primary plans its vision for 2026

The strategic planning session included a formation of projects to be implemented in the next two years. The recently appointed headmaster tabled his plans, and the SGB chair provided some feedback.

Klipspringer Primary School (KPS) held its first-ever strategic planning session on December 1, with the aim of reviewing its exiting vision, mission and core values.

With Dr Melusi Mamba being the principal for nearly a year now, he had the opportunity to table his plans to take the school to greater heights. He said he would do so by bringing innovation and technology to assist the learners to obtain quality education, so they can be competitive in any industry, and that the educators’ skills can be developed.

The session, held at Protea Hotel by Marriott Nelspruit, featured the educators, support staff and school governing body (SGB), and was convened by the Ehlanzeni District Municipality’s strategic planning manager, Dr Sipho Tibane.

Some attendees showed their support of the session and added their input to the plans tabled, which include forming bilateral engagements with neighbouring schools, obtaining land to expand the school, kicking off with community development projects and installing a security and safety unit.

The SGB’s chairperson, Doctor Mdluli, said the session intended to conduct a situational analysis of the school and reviewing the achievements of the governance structure in implementing key projects that will assist the school in reaching greater heights. “It included the formulation of a clear strategic plan that will be the guiding tool for the school for 2026 and beyond,” he said.

He said the educators had stood firm in making sure that their learners continue to receive teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mdluli applauded the members of the SGB for their hard work and commitment to change the school to be the globally recognised centre of learning. “The current SGB’s three-year term of office will come to an end by March 2024. I am confident that that those who come after them will find a well-oiled machine in terms of good governance.”
