Buscor scoops ultimate award in Mbombela

The bus company recently received the President's Award at the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism’s Annual Awards.

The province’s transport giant received the ultimate award, the KLCBT/MMC President’s Award, during the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism’s (KLCBT) Annual Awards.

The much-anticipated awards by local businesses and individuals took place at the Emnotweni Arena on October 20.

Joyous sounds went about the arena as Buscor was announced as the recipient by the KLCBT president, Prof David Mabunda. The recipient was chosen at Mabunda’s sole discretion.

Before the big reveal, he said the award gives recognition to a company’s contribution to the community and economic growth of the Lowveld, which goes above and beyond the criteria and requirement of any other awards.

“They have a well-known presence, deeply rooted into our society. Them not being in existence is almost unimaginable. We appreciate the contribution that this company has made in many communities,” Mabunda said.

A well-known tourism guru, Oupa Pilane accepted the award on the behalf of Buscor’s executive chairperson, Dr Norah Fakude, who had left the awards prior the announcement due to other commitments.

“It is such an honour for us to be recognised in this fashion, and we certainly don’t take it for granted. This award pushes us to strive for nothing but excellence and quality services. This goes to everyone at Buscor, who put in an extra effort just to make this company what it is today,” said Fakude in a telephonic call by this paper.
