Amakhosi and Buccaneer legends in action in eMalahleni
The friendly derby was enjoyed by many fans who came to support the legends.
Masemanzi Mining Holdings, a 100% black-owned mining company, continues to give back to the community.
This company, co-owned by Wonderboy Manzini and Alender Manzini, has for the past 14 years been involved in a number of community upliftment programmes, from funding and donating to orphanages and the impoverished, to hosting sporting events with the aim of nurturing future stars.
On October 14, it hosted its open day at the eMalahleni Pumas Stadium with a game of soccer featuring the two Soweto giants’, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, former players. This day attracted scores of people from eMalahleni, Middelburg and even Gauteng.
Manzini said they decided to bring such festivities closer to the people since most of them can’t afford to travel to other provinces just to watch live in action.

“You see, the stadium is packed with so many people and many of them are the children and the youth who can’t afford to travel far to watch them play. This is an opportunity for them to rub shoulders with their heroes. Since our communities are at the centre of our operations, we always try our best to plough back and empower them,” he said.
“We strive to ensure that we contribute positively to the communities in which we operate. We conduct our business activities in a way that not only creates success for Masemanzi Mining Holdings, but for our communities too. In our way of mining and what we mine, we ensure that we steward the country’s natural resources and social capital to build happy and healthy communities and a better place for all to live.”
