Mpumalanga hopefuls make to top 4 Idols SA

Three men and one woman left in the Idols SA season 19 competition and two of them represent Mpumalanga.

“A rose among the thorns.” This is how Princess McDonald from Bushbuckridge can be described as she and Thabo Ndlovu from eMalahleni makes it to the Idols SA season 19’s top four.

There are three men and one woman left in the competition; two of them represent Mpumalanga.

The results were announced on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) and Mzansi Wethu (DStv channel 163) on Saturday October 14. There are three shows left before the very last season of Idols SA ends after 21 years of airing.

On October 16, McDonald said she feels blessed to make it to the top four. During the interview, she said it is a challenge to be the only female left in the competition. “But I am ready to take it and prove that women run the world,” she said.

In the first interview that was done with McDonald, she said she just wanted to work to get into the top five. When asked about how she feels now that she has surpassed that dream, she said she is still in shock.

“Honestly, sometimes I do not believe I have made it this far. God has put me in a position that I never expected, and I am really grateful for the platform, because it gives me more confidence to believe in myself,” she said.

McDonald said she appreciates the support she receives from the public. “I would like to say thank you, and I beg for them to not give up on me – I really need this. I come from a background where talent is not recognised, but with their support I know I will inspire others to be where I am right now.”

On Saturday during the live performance, Ndlovu left the audience roaring when he performed “Kiss” by Prince, and his second song was “Ndinike Indawo” by the Jaziel Brothers. In a previous interview, Ndlovu said his dream is to inspire people. “I hope through my journey someone gets inspired.”
