Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience to boost tourism and galore entertainment

This festival has created inclusivity and diversity in Mpumalanga while promoting tourism and economic growth.

The province will once again come to a standstill when the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience takes over.

The Cultural Xperience is a premier cultural festival, and offers patrons entertainment across the spectrum.

Even though the dates, venues and themes are yet to be announced, the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation is already preparing to host yet another memorable Xperience like no other on the entertainment calendar of the province.

The Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience has, for the past eight years, provided nothing but top-notch entertainment coupled with great economic spin-offs.
During the event, local hospitality outlets are always fully booked, small businesses such as security and vendors get to make some money, as well as those selling food and drinks to patrons, while local musicians have the opportunity to showcase their crafts and put food on the table for their families.

According to the department’s spokesperson, Sibongile Nkosi, her department will officially launch this year’s edition of the Cultural Xperience at Spy 2 Sky Joint in Pienaar on October 19.

“As a department, we are excited that the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience continues to grow in leaps and bounds and has become a permanent feature in the local entertainment landscape by providing a platform for artists, both local and national, who delight patrons with top-notch performances,” said Nkosi.

The Xperience is made up of the Carnival Xperience, Choral Xperience, Comedy Xperience, Kasi Xperience, Film Xperience, International Xperience and Soul Session Xperience.

The Xperience first hit the scene in 2015 with the aim of bringing together the diverse people of the province to celebrate in song and dance, and to attract visitors to revel in the beauty of Mpumalanga.

The MEC for this department, Thandi Shongwe, is expected to be part of the official launch.
