Ehlanzeni TVET College partners with RCL Foods to create youth employment

The partnership is also aimed to sharpen entrepreneurial skills of young people.

The Ehlanzeni TVET College recently joined RCL Foods to create job opportunities for graduates. A memorandum of understanding was signed by both parties at RCL Foods in Malalane on October 6.

The principal of the Ehlanzeni TVET College, Elias Mbuyane, said the aim of the partnership will offer students of the college opportunities to participate in their respective industries offered by RCL Foods.

“This is also an opportunity for the college to grow and be established in the community as an educational institution that offers industry-ready individuals. The partnership is aimed at creating jobs in the agricultural sector for the most underprivileged communities in Nkomazi, which is served by RCL Foods and the Ehlanzeni TVET College’s Mlumati Campus in KaMhlushwa.”

Mbuyane said this will increase the competency of their graduates.

The director of RCL Foods, Derek van Niekerk, said to partner with the college is about remaining relevant in serving the community of Nkomazi, which they have done since the establishment of the organisation.

“The partnership will engage into creating entrepreneurship as the young people’s skills would be develop and sharpened. We want the beneficiaries of the programme, which has yet to be implemented, to start businesses that will create jobs in the community and overall eliminate youth unemployment.”
