The two contestants from Mpumalanga in Idols SA season 19 have made it into the top six.
Princess McDonald (24) from Bushbuckridge and Thabo Ndlovu (26) from eMalahleni were announced in the top six on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) and Mzansi Wethu (DStv channel 163) on Saturday September 30.
The live performances were themed ‘How to do it’ and ‘Grammy Award-winning hits’. In the first round of performances, the contestants did songs selected by former Idols SA contestants. In the second round they performed songs from a list of Grammy Award-winning hits.

Ndlovu sang “I want to know what love is” by Foreign and for his second performance he did “In love with another man” by Jazmine Sullivan. In her first performance, McDonald sang a rendition of “Dangerous in love” by Beyoncé and her second song was “Fallin”” by Alicia Keys.
In an interview with Ndlovu on Monday, he said he feels humbled to have made it into the top six.
“I thank God for this opportunity and the supporters I have.”
Ndlovu said his dream is to inspire people. “I hope that through my journey someone gets inspired.”
In closing when speaking about his future in the competition, he said he believes that if God has decided that something is for a specific person, it will be. During the first interview with McDonald she said she had been trying to get into Idols SA since season eight. According to her, every week she wants to get into the next level. “I focus on getting into the next level of the competition.”

This is the very last season of Idols SA after 21 years of airing on SA’s TV screens.
