School learners near KaBokweni dress up as professionals for career day
The Grade Seven learners of Bongamlambo Primary School were encouraged to not give up on their dreams of having successful careers.
Future professionals were hopeful to achieve their dreams to become doctors, lawyers and engineers as they dressed up for career day.
These were the Grade Seven learners of Bongamlambo Primary School in Newscom, outside KaBokweni.
The career day took place on Monday, September 11 and the life orientation teacher and organiser, Smangele Nkosi, was proud of how the learners managed to dress up for their dream careers.

Nkosi said this is an annual occasion during which the children are always quite excited. Some came dressed as nurses, police officers and athletes. “We saw a lot of doctors and lawyers, which is encouraging, and we hope they are afforded opportunities to venture into these careers. It is important that we have such events in the school’s curriculum, especially our rural area. It motivates the learners to study harder.”
She said the school hopes to create opportunities for the learners to attend career expositions, especially at higher education institutions.

“I believe that opportunity would allow the children to know more about their career choices and what it takes to enrol into a tertiary. We want to empower the youngsters with great knowledge that they will use to build a better future for themselves.”
