Three suspects on the loose for alleged fuel station robbery in Acornhoek

A provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, urges the public to share information regarding the whereabouts of the three suspects.

Mpumalanga SAPS said three robbery suspects reportedly came into crossfire with an off-duty officer after a robbery at a fuel station in Acornhoek on July 5.

According to a provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, three armed suspects allegedly stormed into the shop at the fuel station and held the cashier at gunpoint at around 17:45. The suspects reportedly took an undisclosed amount of cash, airtime and some cigarettes.

“It is further indicated that as the men were about to flee from the scene, an off-duty police officer who was somehow alerted about the incident, came into the shop. The member confronted the armed suspects and in the process, there was a shoot-out.”
