Drug dealing accused’s bail application withdrawn in Piet Retief Magistrate’s Court

The accused was allegedly found with methamphetamine, methcathinone and cocaine in his possession with an estimated street value of R400 000.

A 48-year-old foreign national’s bail application was withdrawn in the Piet Retief Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
A spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Hawks, Warrant Officer Thandi Tshabalala, said, “Peter Aji Ekemah was arrested by the Piet Retief SAPS during an intelligence-driven operation for allegedly dealing in drugs on June 9.”

Ekemah was allegedly found with methamphetamine, methcathinone and cocaine in his possession with an estimated street value of R400 000.

“The accused appeared in court for a formal bail application. It was withdrawn as it was discovered that he was linked to five more incidents of dealing in drugs which are under investigation by the Secunda-based Organised Crime Investigation Unit.”

His case was postponed to July 5 for a possible formal bail application reinstatement.
According to Tshabalala a new attorney will be appointed for Ekemah.
