KaBokweni rapper ready to flex his musical talent

Eugene Mthethwa, stage name T.fl3x, said he is releasing his next project in July, and will inspire his peers to make better choices for their future.

Hip-hop artist Eugene Mthethwa, stage name T.fl3x (pronounced tee flex), is psyched up for his contribution to the local music industry with a new project to be released in July.

The 22-year-old said his upcoming EP is titled PSET: Physical, Spiritual and Emotional Touch and will consist of seven hip-hop songs.

“It is a personal project and I wrote the songs myself. They are about my life experiences that include heartbreak, good memories, my musical journey so far and the beginning of new things,” Mthethwa said.

He started making music in 2014. “I did covers of other local artists’ music and people would give me positive feedback, especially for my voice. That is when I gained confidence to do my own music.”

Mthethwa said he grew up in a loving and supportive family and community in KaBokweni.

In 2021, Mthethwa released his debut album titled, Things Won’t Be the Same.

“This was an introductory project. It consisted of 12 songs that highlighted what I aim to bring to the music industry. I poured my heart out in the whole production of the album and I believe hip-hop lovers can still enjoy the music.”

He said he wants to inspire the youth to make better choices for their future.

“I want my music to be like a guideline for the youth to draw inspiration from. I also want to encourage my peers to persevere to do good for themselves, no matter the circumstances.”
